What is a Mac Volume Disc?
A Mac Volume disc is a CD or DVD that contains the entire contents of a local Macintosh volume or partition.
Note: You cannot make a bootable Mac Volume disc.
Reasons to Make a Mac Volume Disc
To copy an entire volume (hard disk, partition, cartridge, etc.) to a disc exactly as it is
To control precisely the visual appearance of the disc
To publish a disc
When to Choose a Different Format
To copy multiple volumes to a disc as a single session, use Mac Only format.
